New York State Office of General Services - About Us
About OGS
Commissioner's Welcome
Welcome to the Office of General Services (OGS) website.  Thank you for taking the time to learn more about the variety of programs this agency manages on behalf of New York State.  We provide essential services to our state and local partners, as well as the general public.  From operating buildings, to construction management, establishing procurement contracts, and conducting tours of the Capitol, OGS is truly a diverse organization.

While our services may be “general,” many state agencies depend on OGS to fulfill their own mission and goals.  As such, OGS must always seek to innovate and streamline its business processes, find new ways to serve our customers, and build public trust.  In response to Governor Cuomo’s mandate to achieve savings for the state while improving organizational efficiency, OGS is poised to take on the challenge of creating a modernized government that does more with less.  OGS will accomplish this by retooling our focus on critical programs and services; redesigning the way we do business; and retraining our workforce to support a realigned agency.

One significant step is to provide quick and easy access to information online.  The OGS public website contains content on all our programs via the core services menus linked off the homepage.  I invite you to look through our web pages, read about our programs, and share any suggestions for improving online content and functionality.  If you are unable to find what you're looking for, please contact us - we are always happy to assist.
